There is a newer Pocket PC Installation Creator, version 1.6.
Changes: 1. The Windows Setup Builder has 3 new modules: .NET Compact Framework v2 Mobile SQL Server Custom cab(s) collections 2. Now the PPC Installation Creator can be used and as standalone windows setup maker for PocketPC installations. This is done with the custom cab(s) collections. The user can add 3rd party cab(s), adding them as a custom cab(s) collection, and the setup is ready. 3. Multilinguage Windows Installations. 18 languages supported. Please, submit here bugs, comments, suggestions. PS: This version is mainly based on suggestions made from Baroudeur into this Forum Thread. Many thanks to him |

Hello again, so will post in here now
Some tiny problems : Installation Wizard Actually it is possible to add files, a possibility to add folders too ? By adding a folder i mean, the program should add all the files included in this folder. And if you want to add a forgotten file you cant Pocket PC Installation Settings In Copy Files Properties no way to change the name, still stay like Wizard-# Shortcut Editor The only choice is %CE11%,another choice for help files could be %CE2%\Help, this is the way general Help is managed on PPC Too in some windows all the availables files are listed on left side list box, and all selected are in right side, in some other windows it is the opposite. Usual way is to have all files on left, and selected ones on right. When u create personal cab, it is possible to add plenty in one cab, but only the first one is installed in fact. For exemple in sql mobile i needed to install 3 like the ones you can see on the image i sent in an old post. I created a personal cab intituled sql mobile with these 3 cabs but only the first one was installed, they are all 3 in list anyway. I have some idea how should be a true wizard but seems too complicated to program. I still test to tell you |

Yes, I know the gui needs huge improvements. The next version will be mainly dedicated to gui redesign.
I don't understand the problem with the personal cab. Did the activesync get all the three cabs and install the first one, or get only the first one? As for the wizard idea tell it, if i have plenty of time, i'll try to implemented it... Regards, Nick Protopapas |

Well maybe it need redesign, but it is working fine !
The wizard, this is just a suggestion, you start the way you did then : Question 1 Main files for the application ? Question 2 Help files ? And folder for these files, so you can have the help.htm file in %CE2% and the images in windows/folder Question 3 Shortcuts for main program and for some more. The main is auto shortcuted in %CE11%. The help one can be shortcuted auto and installed in %CE2%*Help (* : cant type the antislash here Question 4 Add on files ? For some more cab. The way you made it is very clear so you can have this part on the wizard. Then a general window where u can change the script created. It is better to ask installation path in true words like Windows reather then %CE2% for exemple. Also the question for what sort of PPC is hard to manage, dont know if it is possible to make one with all differents PPC on 2003 and create another for PPC running WM5. For the pb with personnal cab, when u create it, u have to add one cab under a given name. But you can add more under this name, so i installed 3 but activesync just installed the first of these 3 and just saw the first one. Dont follow me or even with plenty time, you will be busy |

Just updated the 1.6 version. Some bugs are gone, eg the CopyFiles title that don't changes, a path builder is added, and a redesigned Pocket PC Side dialog. I think is more clean now
As for the other features above, working on them ... Simple re-download the 1.6 version from the PPCIC page and the updated version will installed. Regards, Nick Protopapas |
