Hi there. Thanks for all your great software! Good work. I have a question about the ICD browser.

How recent is the data? I've compared the text file from your application to one I found in a version made by DXS systems that runs on windows. The file from the DXS version is 12 Mb whereas yours is only a few hundred kilobytes. I just want to be sure that I don't use data that is outdated.

Also, where do you get the data from? Perhaps I could help you develop a function in the application that allows the user to "Check for updates"

This is the ICD-10 version, as are published by the WHO.

I don't know the other version you mention, maybe have more than one versions, additional languages, modifications, who knows

Mine program only includes the ICD-10 Codes. Maybe later versions will include and some translations. The data file is compressed, uncompressed is about 5.7 mb.

In general what do you thing about the ICD Browser? Is it useful or user friendly? Any recommendation?

I was under the impression that the WHO would release updates to the ICD-10 code list if new classifications are made. If I'm mistaken I apologize.

The ICD browser I use also gets it's codes from the WHO, but it has more descriptions and the file containing the codes has delimiters which take up space. :-P Anyhow their version of the browser only runs on Windows so I can't use it.

Your version is great though. It's simple and easy to use. Great stuff. I don't use it myself but my Father-in-law does. I've recently converted his reflexology practice computers over to Linux. I was worried I wouldn't find a ICD-10 browser for Linux so when I found your project I was very impressed.

Do you know about Debian-Med? I'm sure that project could benefit from your work. Also there's Gnu-Med that plans to integrate an ICD-10 browser into the package. Could be worth investigating.
