Discussion

The CAB in CAB support is added because of the many user's requests and questions on how can install a cab file within another cab file.
With this new feature, when enabled, any CAB file placed into %InstallDir% of the CAB Creator Module will be installed at the end of installation.
For now, this feature works only under WM5 and WM6 devices. I don't know if in the recent future PPC2003 platforms will be supported.

The Custom Messages support is a handy new feature. You simple add them in the Language Section, and you can use them everywhere ( almost ) in the project by using the following syntax: {cm:MsgID} and Setup Wizard will substitute it with the Message Text entered in the Language Section. Note that Custom Messages can be defined separately for any active language.

PS: Version 2.7 to 2.9 were silently released, actually the latest version 2.6 download is internally version 2.9. This happened due to some bug fixes during past months.

Hi does this fix the file copy error when compiling multiplbe files into a cab?

i have experienced massive problems when working with more than 100 files sometimes it has all the files but incorrect file sizes, then sometime it has the right file sizes but not all the files.

Please reply as to wheather this has been fixed or if it will be in the future because as far as i can see the product is not usable without this bug being fxed.

Also can i add the following


1. When creating shortcuts, if slecting an icon file name from within an exe or dll on the device, the icon file name is not populated.

2.Do you have support for specifying the SD_Card as the install location for a group of files
i have a program that has mapping modules required to be installed on the sd-card.



I will say you do have the makings of a very user friendly application, but the one thing that sets this apart from say install aware is that its easy to use, if you stick with that concept your app will go far, break away like installshield and people are going to just pay the extra for another app.

as we are both devs please take these as comments and not critisicsm.

There is deffinately a massive bug when compiling cabs.
If you create a project with multiple directories and files.

Build it once check the cab file size, go back delete the files in project setup then redo your directories and files and build it again the cab file is different in size effectively it corrupts the compiled files, can you please let me know when this will be fixed, i chose your application because i have enough to deal with.

hi
friends
i have a ppc
and i normally install and try newly cooked all roms on it.
due to this every time i install rom i have to install many cab files and some exe files,
i install .cab files directly from mobile but exe files from pc.
i want to collect and compress all my .cab files into one cab file
so when i instal new rom only i have to run one cab and it installs all cab files automatically.
please some one can help me to do so?
