Hi,

Yes, but you can ask here everything and will be answered ...

I am planning a new version of the help file, including the missing How Do I section

I need a the basics of making the desktop install. I don't undersatnd the folder lingo like {group}, {app}, {commonprogram} etc. I don't know what to do to create an uninstall, . I don't understand how to create a shortcut.

All of these things were straight forward on the PPC

Hi,

You can press the Helper button below the properties window, and all the help for this variables will be there.

{app}
The application directory, which the user selects on the Select Destination Location page of the wizard.
For example: If you used {app}\MYPROG.EXE on an entry and the user selected "C:\MYPROG" as the application directory, Setup will translate it to "C:\MYPROG\MYPROG.EXE".

{group}
The path to the Start Menu folder, as selected by the user on Setup's Select Start Menu Folder wizard page. On Windows NT platforms, this folder is created under the All Users profile unless the user installing the application does not have administrative privileges, in which case it is created in the user's profile.

{userprograms} and {commonprograms}
The path to the Programs folder on the Start Menu.

The uninstaller is auto created. In the shortcuts section there is a button called "Auto Icons" which will create an uninstaller icon.

Feel free to ask whatever you want ...

Regards,
Nick Protopapas

THanks, I am moving forward. However, after running the setup, the UNINSTALL doesn't work. I made sure i checked the boxes that allowed the program to be uninstalled. I even used your pci file sent to me. THe uninstall there doesn't work either.

Hi,

It's a problem with the latest build of the 2.6 version.

Please use the v3.0b from
http://www.aperitto.com/component/option,com_fireboard/Itemid,184/func,view/id,403/catid,9/

The problem with the uninstaller is fixed.

Regards,
Nick Protopapas.

PS: Did you check the changes i have made into your project?

Regards,
Nick Protopapas
