Shortcuts not on the right place Posted at 2008/04/07 14:15 Karma: 0
I just download and installed Pocket PC Installation Creator version 2.6 to try. I'm thinking about order it, but I found some annoying problems/bugs:

When you create a cab file contains shortcuts and custom icons, the shortcuts are created in %C11% instead of given directory under %C11%.

Another problem for me: when you want to use parmeters in a shortcut you have to set icon too.

I attached my sample project to demonstrate it. The exe file is too big to attach, you can download it from www.dotfred.net.
File Attachment:
File Name: TaskMgr.zip
File Size: 2647

Hi,

I just found the problem with the shortcuts. It happens only with custom shortcuts. I'll fix and upload a newer version of ppcic. I'll inform you here for downloading the new version.

As for the other issue: when you use custom parameter, ppcic creates the shortcut at compile time into your pc, and includes the created file into your cab file. That's happens because cab installation files can't create custom shortcuts. So, by creating them at compile time, ppcic must "know" what icon to assign to this shortcut. This approach is more flexible because you can assign different icon of the default, or even you can use an icon file from your pc and ppcic will create a resource dll and will assign shortcut's icon with this dll.
